Twelve by Twelve

For the last two years I have been working in a 12 x 12 inch square format.  While I have experimented with collage, assemblage, gold leaf and epoxy to name a few, the core of my work is in traditional drawing, painting and printmaking.  How far can an image be pushed before you lose it?  How much color can one square handle?  Layers of glaze over layers of pattern over collage and stitching: pattern, color, shape, texture and the human face.

The paintings are created as individuals but produce new meanings and dialogue as part of the whole.  The group becomes a living thing as the images adjust and relate to new additions and the retirement of sold paintings.  One work leads to the next and all squares have a relationship with each other.
